A fruit and vegetable vendor in a street in Bandung, an Indonesian town on the island of Java, famous for having been the headquarters of the Conference of Non-Aligned Countries in April 1955, which marked the entry onto the international scene of decolonised ‘Third World’ countries unwilling to align themselves with the countries of the two opposing blocs at the time, the United States and the USSR.
